March Madness

This was the month that Jacob reported to the MTC. He left on March 2nd. It is now the ides of March. The anniversary of the assassination of Julius Caesar. We got a letter from Jacob today, and it had pictures. Jake looks very happy. His first letter's first sentence read, "I love the MTC." I did not see that one coming. Actually, I did. I miss my son; it is a bittersweet thing. I miss him, and I'm glad he's gone. I am proud of him. This month also marks the 5th anniversary of the death of my beloved Mama (March 28th). Coincidentally, it marks the 91st anniversary of her birth (March 31st). I miss her, it is also bittersweet. I know where she is. We are looking forward to the birth of our first grandchild. Natalie and Adam are expecting. Natalie is. Adam helped. Good night.

Latest Obsessions, etc. January 14, 2010

I love my BlackBerry. To pieces, I do. I got issued my fourth BlackBerry from the generous City of Irving back in September. The model that I now have is a Blackberry Tour 9630 smart phone - emphasis on smart. It accesses the internet, will download videos, has a 3.2 megapixel camera that will take still pictures and video. You can download songs and it came with a 2 gig media card. I have been having a nifty time deciding which songs to pair up with what callers, and downloading photos to go with my contact list. So I have been researching how to get the most out of this device. So I am all obsessing over that when a sergeant comes in to have me sign a letter that allows him to purchase a Glock 23 .40 caliber handgun. So I have a burn to get me a back up/off duty gun. So I have been perusing those sites looking at phones and guns. Tonight was a good night. I made spaghetti with meat (hamburger and Italian sausage) and mushrooms sauce. Served with piping hot garlic bread, made fresh at Tom Thumb and a Caesar Salad. Good night.
